What is The Gift of the Word of Knowledge?
The gift of knowledge is another powerful gift of the Holy Spirit that allows a person to know things without having studied them naturally. You just know.
The Lord Jesus alludes to this concept of just knowing in the book of John 8:31-32 when He says, If you hold fast my teachings, you are real my disciples, then you will know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
So there's a knowing that is not by study, there's a knowing that is just known. And when the gift of the word of knowledge comes, there is a just knowing through intimacy with God.
- You just know that the woman you're speaking to was in a car accident two months ago.
- You just know that this person presently is married even though no ring is on their finger and they're telling you that this is not the case.
- You just know that the woman behind of you is having difficulty getting pregnant.
- You just know it.
Nobody has to tell you it, The Holy Spirit shares it with you. Nobody is sharing that with you audibly. You haven't studied it. You haven't gathered that information from Facebook.
You just know by The Holy Spirit!
The gift of knowledge allows people, especially those who function in the prophetic ministry, to gain insight as to what God is doing and how to direct a person to have success in life, fulfilling the plan of God in Christ Jesus.
And so this gift of knowledge works hand in hand with the gift of prophecy and the gift of wisdom.
The gift of the word of knowledge is Spiritually attained knowledge of the present and the past
