Psalm Chapter 90 KJV

King James Version, Holy Bible

Lord, thou hast been our dwelling place in all generations.

Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever thou hadst formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, thou art God.

Thou turnest man to destruction; and sayest, Return, ye children of men.

For a thousand years in thy sight are but as yesterday when it is past, and as a watch in the night.

Thou carriest them away as with a flood; they are as a sleep: in the morning they are like grass which groweth up.

In the morning it flourisheth, and groweth up; in the evening it is cut down, and withereth.

More Psalms Chapter 90 (Old Testament)

For we are consumed by thine anger, and by thy wrath are we troubled.

Thou hast set our iniquities before thee, our secret sins in the light of thy countenance.

For all our days are passed away in thy wrath: we spend our years as a tale that is told.

10 The days of our years are threescore years and ten; and if by reason of strength they be fourscore years, yet is their strength labour and sorrow; for it is soon cut off, and we fly away.

11 Who knoweth the power of thine anger? even according to thy fear, so is thy wrath.

12 So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.

More Psalm Chapter 90 Below

13 Return, O Lord, how long? and let it repent thee concerning thy servants.

14 O satisfy us early with thy mercy; that we may rejoice and be glad all our days.

15 Make us glad according to the days wherein thou hast afflicted us, and the years wherein we have seen evil.

16 Let thy work appear unto thy servants, and thy glory unto their children.

17 And let the beauty of the Lord our God be upon us: and establish thou the work of our hands upon us; yea, the work of our hands establish thou it.

Teach Us To Number Our Days

Thought for the day: Always be mindful of your day and use it wisely.

Message: Our days are numbered before God. We are here for a finite number of days in this body, and that is why we must always number our days. May the Lord remind us that we will go back to Him one day and we have no day to waste.

Many people in this generation are wasting their days because they lack the wisdom to think about their day and this is why the psalmist said: "teach us to number our days that we may apply our heart unto wisdom".

The essence of celebrating our birthday is to remember where we started, where we are, and where we are going. It is sad that we have turned the birthday into a party alone and doing things that are against the will of God.

Let us check out the scripture:

  • To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:
  • 2 A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;
  • 3 A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; 4 A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance;
  • 5 A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;
  • 6 A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away;
  • 7 A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;
  • 8 A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.
  • 9 What profit hath he that worketh in that wherein he laboureth?
  • 10 I have seen the travail, which God hath given to the sons of men to be exercised in it. Ecclesiastes 3:1-10

Many people can not fulfill their purpose because they do not understand that time and many opportunities are whisked away because they fail to understand the importance of time.

Permit me to tell you that until you understand the meaning of your day you may not be able to maximize it well. See the prayer in the last verse: 17 And let the beauty of the Lord our God be upon us: and establish thou the work of our hands upon us; yea, the work of our hands establish thou it.

I pray this will be your portion in Jesus' name. May He bless the works of your life daily, in Jesus' Name. Amen

My Counsel

Ø  Maximize your day and don’t let any opportunity slip away.

Ø  Always ask God for wisdom to maximize what He has planted in you.

Ø  You are here for a season and a reason.

Declaration

Father, I ask that you help me to use my day to praise you and for the expansion of your kingdom in Jesus' name. Amen
