Psalm Chapter 88 KJV
King James Version, Holy Bible
1 O lord God of my salvation, I have cried day and night before thee:
2 Let my prayer come before thee: incline thine ear unto my cry;
3 For my soul is full of troubles: and my life draweth nigh unto the grave.
4 I am counted with them that go down into the pit: I am as a man that hath no strength:
5 Free among the dead, like the slain that lie in the grave, whom thou rememberest no more: and they are cut off from thy hand.
6 Thou hast laid me in the lowest pit, in darkness, in the deeps.

7 Thy wrath lieth hard upon me, and thou hast afflicted me with all thy waves. Selah.
8 Thou hast put away mine acquaintance far from me; thou hast made me an abomination unto them: I am shut up, and I cannot come forth.
9 Mine eye mourneth by reason of affliction: Lord, I have called daily upon thee, I have stretched out my hands unto thee.
10 Wilt thou shew wonders to the dead? shall the dead arise and praise thee? Selah.
11 Shall thy lovingkindness be declared in the grave? or thy faithfulness in destruction?
12 Shall thy wonders be known in the dark? and thy righteousness in the land of forgetfulness?

13 But unto thee have I cried, O Lord; and in the morning shall my prayer prevent thee.
14 Lord, why castest thou off my soul? why hidest thou thy face from me?
15 I am afflicted and ready to die from my youth up: while I suffer thy terrors I am distracted.
16 Thy fierce wrath goeth over me; thy terrors have cut me off.
17 They came round about me daily like water; they compassed me about together.
18 Lover and friend hast thou put far from me, and mine acquaintance into darkness.
Psalm Chapter 88 Devotional - A TROUBLED SOUL
Thought for the day: God will always be there to save you.
Message:
Many things can make the soul of man be troubled and close to his grave:
· When you think your prayers are not going to be answered again.
· When you think there is no help for you.
· When those you think will help you turn against you.
· When you received a sack letter from work and it seems that there is nowhere to go.
The situation pictured in the psalm above shows a situation beyond control, when all hope was gone. The psalmist was reminding God that the dead cannot praise Him, yes the dead cannot do that and that is why I declare over your life as a prophet that you cannot die like a chicken. Whatever you are going through right now is a step towards your fulfilment.
I know you have been seemingly fighting all alone, but I want you to see God fighting your battle. See what the scripture says:
The Lord hear thee in the day of trouble; the name of the God of Jacob defend thee;
2 Send thee help from the sanctuary, and strengthen thee out of Zion;
3 Remember all thy offerings, and accept thy burnt sacrifice; Selah.
4 Grant thee according to thine own heart, and fulfil all thy counsel.
5 We will rejoice in thy salvation, and in the name of our God we will set up our banners: the Lord fulfil all thy petitions.
6 Now know I that the Lord saveth his anointed; he will hear him from his holy heaven with the saving strength of his right hand. Psalm 20:1-6
You need to look up now. Your God is God and He is ready to fight your battle. Don't agree with the deception of the devil. I see God helping you in Jesus' name.
My Counsel
Ø Allow nobody to pity you; arise now.
Ø Call the name of God because He cannot forget you.
Declaration
Father, I ask that you fight my battle and restore my soul. Give me Your joy of salvation, in Jesus' name. Amen
