Matthew Chapter 10 KJV

King James Version, Holy Bible

  • And when he had called unto him his twelve disciples, he gave them power against unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all manner of sickness and all manner of disease.
  • Now the names of the twelve apostles are these; The first, Simon, who is called Peter, and Andrew his brother; James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother;
  • Philip, and Bartholomew; Thomas, and Matthew the publican; James the son of Alphaeus, and Lebbaeus, whose surname was Thaddaeus;
  • Simon the Canaanite, and Judas Iscariot, who also betrayed him.
  • These twelve Jesus sent forth, and commanded them, saying, Go not into the way of the Gentiles, and into any city of the Samaritans enter ye not:
  • But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.

Lesson: In Matthew chapter 10, Jesus sends out his disciples to preach and heal in his name, warning them of the challenges and opposition they will face. He also emphasizes the importance of putting Him above all else, including family and personal safety. This reminds us that our devotion to Jesus should always come first, and we should be willing to sacrifice everything for His sake.

Conclusion: Following Jesus is not always easy, and we will face many challenges and obstacles along the way. However, if we remain devoted to Him, we can trust that He will be with us and guide us through every trial.

Prayer Points: Heavenly Father, help us to be steadfast in our devotion to Jesus, even in the face of adversity. Give us the courage to put Him above all else, and to follow Him wherever He may lead us. We pray for the strength to endure any trials we may face, knowing that You are with us always. In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.
