According to the Bible, can a woman be a bishop, according to the Bible? The answer to that is no.
The Scriptures that testify of this are 1Timothy 2 and 3 and Titus 1 and 3
Now in 1Timothy 3, the Scripture says that it is a true saying that if a man desires the office of a bishop, he desires a good work. A bishop, then must be blameless the husband of one wife.
Can a woman become the husband of one wife?
No, she cannot become the husband of one wife. If she does, that would be a form of transgenderism(an abomination according to Deuteronomy 22:5) which the Scriptures are vehemently against.
And this is what a woman pastor is. It is a form of transgenderism in the house of God, because the woman is putting on that which pertains unto the man.
And so for a woman to put on that which pertains unto the man, is a form of transgenderism which we would see with Ashera worship in Canaan, and this continues even to this day. In Deuteronomy 22:5 we know that the Lord is vehemently against this.
It's no surprise that women pastors are so pervasive in the Church today because Israel likewise had an issue with this same spirits of Asherah and Baal! But by God's grace we have to overcome this sin in the House of God!
Asherah is a false goddess that transforms men to women and women into men, and so for a woman to play a man is ungodly and a sacrifice unto idols, just as the Lord Jesus talked about it in Revelation 2:20-23 when referencing Jezebel, who was a worshiper of Asherah, who we know usurped the authority of her husband.
So according to Scripture, can the woman be a bishop?
No, because she was never given the tend and keep role by God; that was given to the man.
Tend means to build and keep means to protect. And this is what a pastor overseer is.
The Bishop, pastor, elder or overseer is the quintessential man in the house of God.
That's why, if you look at all of the requirements of this man, you see that this man should look like the man Christ, Jesus, because it is a picture of Christ in the church.
Christ teaches the Church, therefore the man that teaches the body of Christ.
It's not the church that teaches Christ, therefore in the House of God it's not the woman that teaches the man.
And this biblical understanding of gender roles is binding even in the New Testament, because God's design is for the man and the woman to represent Christ and His Church, even in the house of God, which Scripture calls in 1Timothy 3, the pillar and ground of the truth.
